there was only Shooter, Space, Driving and Silly, all players, items, and enemies were kept, and the missing scenes were marked with an 'H' in the full edition. The 3D gamemaker also released a Lite edition which had less possibilities. There is a walking Tomato in both the Cartoon theme and the Silly theme. * Silly: Similar to Cartoon but with outdoor scenes and 'toy' characters and objects. Most of the player and enemy objects are action figures. * Cartoon: These games are set inside a large house, with small characters. * Jungle: A theme for making games in settings such as jungles and tombs. Many cars are available in the theme, including a De Lorean DMC-12. * Driving: race tracks and vehicles for making car racing games. * Space: resembles the Star Wars Universe with space racers in 3rd person. * War: 3rd person objects with World War or Futuristic settings * Horror: Scary objects and settings in a 3rd person game. Only one gun is available when using this theme. Most of the Shooter theme scenes are either from Middle ages or Modern times. * Shooter: Basic first-person shooter games. The 3D Gamemaker has 8 different themes to choose from. Also, there's the ability to upload your own media. There is also, amongst other things, a simple level creator. this is not available in beginner mode or the lite edition. The 3D gamemaker has a built in placement editor that allows the user to indicate where enemies, items, and obstacles go. Games developed with 3D Gamemaker require at least 400 MHz Pentium processor, 64 MB of RAM and DirectX 7.0b to run. The 3D Gamemaker does not encourage one-theme game making, but encourages mixing different themes to make a game that's unique and fun to play.

Programming and art skills are not required to develop Gamemaker games, but developers may optionally add custom media to their games using the DarkBASIC programming language.
